Former big player at Wyeth and Pfizer has joined ILNS as internal pipeline draws attention

Intellect Neurosciences, Inc.(OTC: ILNS), the micro-cap company whose founder is the inventor and patent holder for the technology platform on which several Alzheimer's drug candidates in late-stage clinical trials (most visibily Bapineuzumab) are based, has announced that it has engaged Dr. Giora Feuerstein as a key consultant to advise the Company regarding its internal preclinical and clinical-stage pipeline.

 
CHTP investors still hoping FDA pulls midodrine; other catalyst on tap this month

According to published reports, officals at the FDA will continue to allow access to ProAmatine, also known as midodrine, "while the necessary data is collected and the legal issues get sorted out."  Chelsea Therapuetics'(NASDAQ:CHTP) drug, Northera is set to compete against midodrine, however the FDA still yet to make a final ruling.

 
Big Pharma On Track To Make More Deals But Submit Less New Drug Applications

Last week, Pfizer agreed to acquire a privately held company called FoldRx Pharmaceuticals, whose leading drug candidate is a therapy for a genetic neurodegenerative disease for which the only current therapy is a liver transplant.

Large drug makers will likely continue to make acquisitions and sign pricey partnership deals do so after struggling to develop new "hit drugs" of their own.
